SW Carpet Pythons

Description 

The south West Carpet Python is a very large snake with a very cryptic carpet like pattern. It can grow up and over 2m in length and has very distinct heat sensor pits on the nose and along the line of the mouth. 

Habitat

Carpet Pythons occur in mainly coastal heath, Forests and semi arid bushland and also rocky outcrops on windswept islands

Distribution

this species occurs from Shark Bay in the north all the way down the coast and around to Esperance in the south and inland to the goldfields. The biggest stronghold of this species can be found on Garden Island as this island is controlled by the navy and has limited access to the general public thus insuring a healthy population on the Island.
