Death Adders

Description

Death Adders have a very distinct short syout body and a triangular head and can reach a length of around 1m they are usually an orange colour with banding down the whole body ending with the tail being a completly different colour from the snake and this is used for attracting its pray with a techniue called coudal luring.

Habitat

These snake live in a wide range of habitats but choose mainly to seek out heavily leafed areas as it can hide amoungst the feaf litter and ambush its prey. They will also seek out places around water courses and rocky outcrops.

Distribution

The death adder is found scattered in an arc from the stirling ranges near perth to the nullabour but is not found in the wetter places of southern Western Australia.
